Process automation teaching equipment and design for updating its automation

The aim of this thesis is to study the current state of industrial automation systems and map the teaching equipment of the Laboratory of Process Control. Then design an update the automation systems of the teaching equipment to represent the automation systems used in industry.

At the beginning of the thesis automation systems provided by the automation systems manufacturers and the use of those systems in industry is studied. This thesis also investigates the development of industrial automation and determines emerging trends in automation devices and technologies.

The second part consists of documenting the state of teaching equipment of the Laboratory of Process Control and designing an update for the automation systems of the teaching equipment. The update design utilizes modern solutions of the industrial automation systems and combines the separate teaching processes under an integrated automation system in order to produce a versatile education environment. The purpose of the design is to provide students with an environment in which they can train effectively to the need of the industry.
